Paul has recently discovered a real passion for genealogy. In a way, he explains, the detective work genealogy requires – the tracking back, figuring out who was where and when – is very similar to what he enjoys about his ‘day job.’ The process requires focus and patience, not to mention lots of online research, digging through Michigan archives and visiting church parishes in person. To date, Paul’s second great grandfather remains a mystery – but that only makes the process more suspenseful and ultimately rewarding and Paul remains optimistic. “Just as in litigation, you never know when you will uncover that key fact, that source or book that will nudge you in the right direction and get you where you want to go.”
