His areas of specialty include supply chain conflicts, appeals, contractual disputes, complex commercial litigation, white collar defense and constitutional litigation. Tim’s outstanding legal mind and writing aptitude make him a go-to attorney for drafting federal court pleadings and motions, complex memoranda and demand letters.

With a background that includes three federal clerkships, Tim is comfortable in courts nationwide. He often conducts client and expert interviews in addition to his many other supporting litigation commissions. Keenly aware of the toll litigation can take, he advises clients to consider their options carefully before picking battles. He realizes that they operate in the wider business world and must consider a host of factors, including effects on reputation and damage to existing commercial relationships, before deciding to push forward into a courtroom dispute.

Prior to joining Warner, Tim practiced at New York-based Patterson Belknap, and before that he served as a law clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He also worked as a law clerk in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of Michigan. Tim’s clerkship experience gives him a highly attuned sense of how judges read briefs and write opinions, as well as which approaches to litigation they favor or disfavor. This valuable insight enhances his ability to serve clients.

Tim has co-authored several articles addressing COVID-19’s impact on commercial transactions and disputes that were published by the Practicing Law Institute, Law360 and the New York State Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in both Michigan and New York.
