Brian D. Wassom, a partner with the law firm Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been accepted to the American Arbitration Association’s Commercial Arbitration Panel.

AAA is a nonprofit in the field of alternative dispute resolution that maintains a roster of impartial third party arbitrators who have met the organization’s stringent standards of ethics and experience. With most courts facing a backlog of cases and other disruptions caused by the COVID pandemic, alternative dispute resolution is increasingly seen as an effective, efficient path to settle conflicts outside of court.

Wassom, who chairs Warner’s Emerging Media and Technologies Industry Group, has nearly a decade of experience in alternative dispute resolution as a mediator for Federal and Michigan conflicts. In his role as an arbitrator, he will hear and decide disputes by leveraging his experience in a wide range of commercial and intellectual property matters, including copyright, trademark, product liability, publicity rights, defamation, unfair competition, First Amendment and false and deceptive advertising.

Wassom is active in the technology industry as a frequent speaker and writer who has published dozens of articles, essays and other contributions to publications, including&nbsp;Forbes Magazine&nbsp;and&nbsp;The Journal of Arts Management Law &amp; Society. His book,&nbsp;Augmented Reality Law, Privacy and Ethics,&nbsp;was published by Syngress and was one of the first books to tackle AR legal issues. Wassom most recently contributed to the book, Augmented and Mixed Realities for Communities.
